I attempted to open a data file that had a ".SDF". When
it asked me what to open it with, I chose MS Word. Now,
the program that the data file is part of won't run
correctly. The .SDF file initially just had the Microsoft
Windows dog-eared icon with no specific program. How do I
get it back to that so it will run correctly? I shouldn't
have tried to open the data file from C: folder. Thanks.

Paul - this is a "file association" problem.
From a command prompt do
assoc /?
to see how to handle associations.
To find out what kind of file an ".SDF" extension
may be, google for
[".SDF" extension]
(without the brackets but with the quotes.)

You could try going to Folder Options in Windows Explorer, clicking File Types, and setting the .sdf extension to the correct application, or you could reinstall the application, which should recreate the registry entries that deal with the .sdf extension.

In Explorer , Tools, Folder Options, File Types, scroll down to "SDF"
and delete the listing.
