change xp home to xp professional

I just purchased a computer with Windows XP home, but
need to join a domain group. I believe that requires XP
Professional. Can I purchase XP Professional and treat
this as an upgrade?

Yes you will need XP Pro and it is considered an upgrade.

Yes, you can upgrade XP Home to Professional. There is no special
upgrade version just for this, but the regular XP Professional
Upgrade works fine (although it doesn't say so on the box).
