change to xp-professional

if i have home edition on my computer what does it take to
change to professional? Do I just install over the home or
do i have to uninstall home and install professional
 
You can install PRO over Home and save other programs installed, or select
to install to a clean disk.

If you decide to go back to Home sometime in the future, you will only be
able to install to a clean disk.

I did this on my home PC. I choose the migration route
and it went very smoothly. After the migration a couple
of things to check:

1) Visit the MS software downloads to refresh your patch
level

2) If you have configured the page file under home you
will need to redo this after the migration as Pro will
revert to the default settings.

Also if you have SP1 on XP Home make sure your release of
Pro is Pro with SP1.
