My Windows XP Professional all of a sudden no longer prompts me for what I
wish to do when I attach & switch on my Nikon digital camera. Typically it
recognizes it as a "removable" drive giving it the letter G. Now, all of a
sudden, it defaults to "exploring it" as opposed to asking me.

I uninstalled the device, peeked under folder..options but I don't see
anything.

Tips?

LRH

Once the camera is plugged and drive letter assigned, right-click G:\ and choose Properties. In the AutoPlay tab, choose "Prompt me each time.........."

okay, i seem to be having a similar problem, except mine already has
drive letter, but when i try to get to the information stored inside
it's in a ".DBK" file, which i'm finding out is a database file, but
can't figure out what i'm doing wrong, i have some pics from a vacatio
i really want to get off of this camera. it worked fine on my ol
desktop computer that ran xp pro, but my laptop has a problem with it.

Nevermind, i found the problem, in this particular camera, i had put in
the memory card, so it was trying to read the memory card instead of the
pics on the internal memory, DUH!
