I have a title on my chart and I would like it to
automatically change a number that comes from a worksheet
when new data is added. Is this possible? For example
if my sample of data includes 45 people I want it to read
N=45 but would like that to automatically change as new
people are added.

Hi
select the title box of your sheet and enter the 'equation sign: =' Now
select the cell with the value

I must be confused I can't seem to get it to work. My
chart is on a seperate worksheet, does this matter? My
chart title is in a text box and when I put an equals
sign in and then switch worksheets to select a certain
cell it doesn't do anything. Am I missing a step,
creating charts is all new to me do not know all the
features.
Thanks

Never mind I figured it out!!! Total brain freeze for a
second! Thanks for your help!!

Further to Frank's answer, you first need to build the text string in a
cell in the sheet, such as:
="N="&COUNT($A:$A)

then point to that cell after selecting the chart title and typing an =
sign.

Yes <g>
1. Select the chart sheet
2. Click on the chart title box / text box
3. Click in the formula bar
4. Type an = sign
5. Switch to the worksheet containing the formula
6. Select the cell
7. Press Enter!

I guess you typed the = sign directly into the text box.
