Hi boris,

In IE, go to the menu, and choose Tools > Internet Options. In Internet
Options, go to the Advanced tab. Under Multimedia, put a check in the box
next to "Show image download placeholders" (Apply > OK).

Thank you for the answer, but what I want is to somehow change this
icon to something bigger and more visible. I have a webpage with 1000+
pictures and I want to clearly see when one or more pictures are
missing. With such a small icon as default I can't see among all the
pictures that one is missing. Therefore I want to create my own big
icon and replace the small default one.

Is there any way of how to achieve it?
Thanks in advance.
Boris

That picture is embedded in the IE support DLL. You would have to use a
Resource Editor and modify the DLL.
