Change of Behaviour!!

I like do my searches in Google and right click each item of interest and
open in new window, thus opening up several windows while looking through
the search results.

Recently (last couple of weeks or so) I have noticed that there are several
annoying seconds of delay before I can go back to the original Google
window. It simply refuses to respond to trying to reopen the original Google
window which just sits there in the background.

Any ideas what is going on and how I can remedy please?

This is IE 6.0.2800.1106 on W2K.

I do allow the automatic updates and have received one at around the time
that this behaviour started.

First eliminate any spyware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated with the program's update function

Sorry, I should have said that I use Spybot, Ad-Adware and CWShredder all
with updated definitions etc and all show that I am clear. As does my AV
programme.

Aything else?
