Some time ago I asked about a Unicode-enabled Notepad; I got a couple of
workarounds. Recently I found Metapad, which can be Unicode by default. I
like it. I'd like to invoke it when I right-click ... just like I've been
invoking Notepad.
I'm using XP Home SP2 updated. If I rename NOTEPAD.EXE to METAPAD.EXE, will
that work without breaking anything?
What if I go into the registry and change every reference to NOTEPAD to
METAPAD. Again, would that break anything?
Maybe there's a way to add a right-click context menu for when I'm on the
desktop or inside a folder, so that I can bring up Metapad that way.
I'd be really happy if there's a way for me to get Metapad by default.
Thanks!
