Hi,
I had to move the network card from one slot to an other. At power up, Winxp
cleared the network configuration and when reentering the information, a
window comes up stating that the IP address 192.168.0.1 already exists. On
the hardware list, the network card is shown as #2 (there's no #1).
Where's the old information stored at and how to eliminate it so that winxp
doesn't think I have an additional card?
TIA

Hello

In windows open a DOS windows and type the following

ipconfig /release

Hello

Once the card is installed open a DOS window then do IPCONFIG
it should display your IP address, then do IPCONF space /RELEASE

Alvin

Thank you Alvin.
I tried it but I get an error stating that no adaptor is permitted for such
task.
I also tried ipconfig /release *Con* with no avail.
