Change NetBIOS Domain Name on WIN2K3

One of my customers installed his Windows 2003 Server using the default
domain name for NetBIOS.

Domain = LSS.local
NetBIOS domain = LSS-NETBIOS

When I add an XP computer to the domain it automatically joins
LSS-NetBIOS even if I specify LSS.local. Although I'm able to join the
domain, it is causing a problem when I attempt to push my anti-virus
software client from the server to the workstation. I'm asked for the
credentials for the LSS-NetBIOS domain, and the LSS.local domain
credentials are not accepted.

How can I modify the NetBIOS domain name so they match?

Never done it, but the domain rename tool supports changing the NetBIOS name
of a Windows Server 2003 domain:
