Change Name Order

I recently exported my pst file to a new PC. My contacts show up in my new
"Contacts", last name first. However when sending an e-mail, and selecting
recipients the address book window has many of the names the filed by first
name.

Is there a way to change this?

Thanks!

Dale

You never use export to transfer Outlook data if you want it to remain
intact.
Impossible to know what got changed. Hopefully, the problem is limited to
the sorting method you have chosen for the Outlook Address Book. Tell us
what that is and include your Outlook version so we can attempt an answer to
your question.

I'm sorry, I did not actually "export" the file. It was "moved" from one PC
to the other over our network. I'm using Outlook 2007. The name sorting is
correct in Contacts; they show up differently when accessing the address book
in email.

Thanks!

So what sort order did you choose? Go to Tools > Account Settings > Address
Book Tab > Outlook Address Book > Change... > and tell us.

Russ,

Again I apologize for incomplete information.

On my old PC, I had set up as last name first. Also, in the e-mail address
book, they displayed the same way. When I moved the pst file from old to new,
the contact names are filed last name first. I went into
tools-options-contact options after I noticed that adrdess book was sorted
first name first and changed to last name first. This change had no effect on
the address book.

Now, where in Russ's post do you see him suggesting the menu path you
selected?

Thank you Russ, It sorted fine!

I'm new to this forum thing, so forgive me if I've transgressed somehow. I
have the same problem as dale. My contacts are listed some by first name,
some by last. We had to clean out our computer and reinstall XP. I have a
Dell Axim which had our contacts in it, and when I synched it to retrieve our
contacts, they came back some first, some last. Any ideas on how to get them
all the same?

Thanks, Kevin

I'm on Outlook 2007. See Russ Valentine's 2nd response of 11/7.

Good Luck.
