Change "My Documents" Default

Many applications in XP-Home, when asked to store some file, open an XP panel to
select where you want to store the file. It defaults to point to "My Documents"
but has buttons down the left edge to select "My Computer", "Desktop", "Network
Places", etc.

Is there some tweak to change the default from "My Documents" to a subdirectory
on my C drive?

Thanks...

It will depend on the individual program whether you can change the
default since this is not an XP issue but rather a per-application
setting. For instance, in MS Office programs (like Word) you can change
the default save location from Options. Look in whatever application
you are using to see what options are available to you.

It's called the "Places Bar."

Read here: "How to customize the My Places bar in the 'Open' and 'Save As'
dialog boxes in Office XP programs"
