Is there any way of changing the properties of word documents without having
to open them individually (or right-clicking and changing properties)?

I have over 2000 docs I have accumulated and some have been done on
computers other than my home computer. I want them all on a cd-rom, however
I want them all to show the proper author - me.

Anyone help?

Thanks

you can do a "bulk" properties change (for author at least). When you are in the folder of the appropriate documents, change your view to list or details (thois is optional, but I tend to like this view for bulk blocking). Choose your documents (left click top of list, shift or ctrl, and left click end of list), right click in highlighted area, open properties, go to summary, and left click author. This will bring up a pulldown menu that you can choose, or just enter your name (if yours isn't on the list). This should make all the documents with the same author.

You'd need to use a macro (or VB or .NET or something similar) in order to do
this. If you have programming background, search DSOFile in the Microsoft
Knowledge Base. Plus, you'll find an article on the topic on the mvps.org/word
website.

On this site you will find an add-in called Multimacro. It will let
you define a macro that it will then run on all all Word files in a
folder - it looks as if that could be of help;

Many thanks to all for the help. I really do appreciate it - a lot of time
is going to be saved.

Best wishes for the season.
