I just upgrade windows NT4 server to a windows2000 Domain Controler.
The domain controler name is wrong now. It took the old host name from NT4 with
the domain name writen in the DNS tab in Win NT4.
The upgrade from NT4 to Windows2000 went fine.
But now I can't add an other DC to the same domain.
I cannot lose my users if I demote AD on this DC.

How could I change the full computer name with out losing my users accounts and knowing that I cannot add an other DC to the same domain.

Thank you

I don't quite understand what do you mean by 'cannot add another DC to the
same domain'.

Althought it's possible under Windows 2000, it's a very tedious (possibly
high risk as well). You will have to add a BDC to your domain, remove the DC
from the network and demote the DC, upgrade the BDC to PDC and finally
upgrade the PDC to a Windows 2000 DC again.

See http://support.microsoft.com/?id=292541 for details.
Make sure you are very sure of the steps and have all the required backups
before proceeding.

If you only want to change the DC host name, refer to the following article:
