Servers don't "go" to Domain -- Someone runs DCPromo to create an Active Directory, Domain Controller, on that server. You can run the same DCPromo program a second time to destroy the AD. How many clients do you have? Beyond about 5-10 clients and users a Domain is MUCH easier to manage.
