Hi,

some Windows 2000 PCs with users using local profiles have to switch
to a different NT-domain. How can users keep their profiles in this
case?

Thanks in advance
Jan

Logon once to the new domain then run regedt32.exe and navigate to
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList locate the new
profile SID and edit the Reg_Expand_Sz 'ProfileImagePath' to point back to
the old domain profile.

Hi,

I did this and additionally gave the user in the new domain full
access rights to the old profile directory.

Unfortunately there remain some problems (when trying to work as the
user in the new domain):
The positions of the users icons on the desktop are not remembered
(the icons of the old domain-user are shown but at different
positions).
When starting MS-office applications the user is asked for his
initials as if he would start the application for the very first time.
When trying to start Outlook (2002) there is only the message "Outlook
can not be started". The option "mail" is missing at "Start -> control
panel".

What is going wrong here?
