I went to input some DNS Forwarding addresses and its grayed out. It says
its a root server and cant do it. How do you change this so I can put
forward addresses in it.

Delete the zone named with a ".", close and re-open the console.

I tried that. I even uninstalled DNS and Reinstalled it. It still shows the
server setup as a Root Server.

Does it give you an error when you delete the Root zone?

I'm surprised you cannot delete the Root zone (the period) from your Forward
Lookup Zones.

Curious, how does the server "show" you it is setup as a Root Server after
you deleted the Root zone?

Even after deleting the zone, uninstall and reinstall everything looks
normal until you go into the Forwarding tab and its grayed out. It says you
cant add fowarders because its a root server. How it got setup that way im
not sure. Not sure what button I pushed.

Delete the zone named with a dot".". Thne after you refresh the DNS console
(close and re-open) you can enable a forwarder.

I'm not sure what you'r deleting, but you sure ain't deleting the actual
Root zone.

As Kevin said it looks like a period. I looks like this: "." (without the
quotes). You will find it in the console under the part where it says
"Forward Lookup Zones. It will be a period under that Forward Lookup Zones
section.

Can you explain exactly what you tried to delete please?
