I installed BitLocker and it's preparation tool left me with new system
1.5Gb partition labeled as S: Since this letter is hardcoded and reserved
for data in some software we use, I disabled BitLocker. But partition
remaind, marked as System and Active.

I cannot change letter or delete this partiton since it is marked System.
How can I mark another partiton as System so I could get rid of this one?

Any ideas would be greatly appriciated since I don't want to reinstall
Vista.

Best regards,
rp

Disk Management, right click on the partition that should be active.

Question was how to get rid of this partition or at least change driver
letter. Marking another partition as 'active' is not problem, but make
another partition 'system' is. And as long as this partition is 'system'
Windows cannot change drive letter, delete or merge this partition.

I'll try some third party solution (like Partition Manager or something) and
then I'll probably have to reinstall. But...

Do you know what make a partition the Windows system partition?
1. It has to be a primary partition.
2. It has to contain the Vista boot manager files.
and
3. It has to be marked active, allowing the motherboard bios to boot
from that partition.

If Windows can be booted from a partition, that partition becomes its
system partition.
