When going into formatting(such as format autoshape), after you set the fill
color and settings, put a checkmark on default for new objects. Then click OK.

Can you change the defaults in PP? i.e. Line widths, fill color etc.

Create an object the way you want it to look, then righ-click and choose
"Set Autoshape Default."

That works for the time you have that file open but what happens when you
close it and open another? I'll tell you. Microsoft reverts back to what
they think the default should be again. This is very frustrating. Why would
anybody want that dark Blue fill as the default of their shapes anyway?
QUESTION: How do you change it once and have it stay that way everytime you
open PowerPoint?
(You can do it in Word)
(Forgive me if I sound frustrated but PPT 2007 is draining my productivity)

If you want these settings for all files, you have to change the template
they are based on. Do you use the white Office design or an own template?

Best regards,
