When importing slides from another file, the font
formatting of some of the text boxes changes from what it
was originally.
I am unable to locate the setting that would maintain the
text formatting. I have even tried changing the default
font for new items on the master slide but this does not
solve the problem.
Can anyone provide assistance?

Karen,
Which version of PowerPoint are you using? Makes a difference for this....

If you go to Format/Replace Fonts, you should see a ? in front of any
missing fonts.

The other possibility is that your slides are picking up the template
formatting of the presentation you're inserting them into. This is by
design.

If you're using PPT 2002/2003, you can use the "keep source formatting"
option to keep the old font. But you'll want to make sure that the problem's
not simply a missing font in the first place.

There's info on multiple masters and "keep source formatting" at
