Right clicking on the desktop brings up "display properties" and the
"Appearance" tab is just to the left.

The default color scheme is "blue" and I would like to change the
default to "silver" - is there a way?

SM

Thanks, but I do not see any way to make it the default color.

Sorry it is not under the advanced button.
on the appearance tab window it is the middle option/box
in color scheme. be sure to "save as" on the theme tab.

Are we looking at the same appearance tab? There is no way to "save as"
on that tab and there is no theme tab. There are three color schemes;
blue (default), olive green, and silver. I want silver to be the default.

SM

You should just be able to click the colour you want then apply and OK
out. I have mine set to silver and on the appearance box it shows Windows
XP Style under Windows and buttons, Silver under Colour and Normal size
under Fonts.

Same for me - I am just trying to set "silver" as the default vs. blue.

SM

I don't understand, blue is still listed as the default in the dropdown
list in appearances for me but the box shows silver which is the colour I
chose and the one that is set for all my windows.
Are you saying that if you pick silver it will not hold that appearance
for you, if so I'm afraid I can't help and you'll have to wait for one of
the experts to help.
