Change computer owner

I bought a computer from another fellow - he has XP Pro on it. Now his name comes up as the user and computer owner - you know the drill. I would like to change that to my name or something I want, rather than see his name forever more while I have this OS. Is there a way??

You can try this:
[Start] [Run] [Regedit]
Registry Key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion
Modify/Create the Value Data Type(s) and Value Name(s) as detailed
below.
Data Type: String Value // Value Name: RegisteredOrganization
Data Type: String Value // Value Name: RegisteredOwner
Setting for Value Data: [Modify the Values to Reflect Current
Information]
Exit Registry and Reboot
