Change Computer Name

Hi Everyone

We have a Windows 2000 network with 30 clients. The clients have
computer names that are completely random. I want to change the
computer names so that there is some sort of naming convention that
will make it easier to administer. If I change the Computer Names will
that affect profiles, membership of the domain etc.

Assuming the machines are in a workgroup, just right click on My
Computer, select Network ID tab, and then Properties. Put in the new
machine name.
