I have machines that work fine and others that dont.
Meaning when i start the command box (cmd) the default
folder is c:\ and the ones i want to fix start in
C:\Documents and Settings\(user name)\.
At what point in the install does this setting take place?
I know i can manually fix this by adding homepath in the
variables for the user, but i shouldnt have to...
I am just wondering where i am screwing up in my installs.

Do all of these machines have the same service packs and patches
installed? I think I recall reading that one of them changed the default
HOMEPATH setting.

You the man!
It was the hotfix Q824141 that was the trouble maker.
Removing this returned it to normal...after fixing some
startup errors that removing it created..but i fixed them
by reinstalling SP4

Set the shortcut's "Start in:" directory as desired
