change cell data without leaving cell?

Sometimes I just want to try various values in some cell. So, type a
value, <enter>, <up arrow>, type a new value, <enter>, <up arrow> ...

Not a big deal, but if there was a way to 'enter' the new value without
leaving the cell, I'd use it.

Use <ctrl> and <Enter>
then <F2> to get back into the cell

Uncheck "move selection after enter"
