Starting just after the latest Windows Defender update was installed on my PC
I started getting a pop-up each time I logon saying a change was allowed by a
known application. Accoding to the Programs and Actions display: there have
been several acions permitted by programs with potentially unwanted behavior.
They are Viewpoint (1 event) and several events listed as either iemain or
iesearchurl and these all have [email protected] then a bunch of characters. I do
not understand what this means. I'm wondering if I need to do something about
this. Can anyone assist?

You've turned on a setting which is not on by default:

Choose if this program should notify you about:

"Changes made to your computer by software that is permitted to run."
(see Tools, Options, below the list of Real Time protection options)

The one that you will see at startup each time involves MPCMDRUN--this is
Windows Defender re-scheduling the daily automatic scan job.

I would recommend unchecking this option. It can be useful if you wish to
see what is being done by a particular software installation process, for
example, but if the messages are not of interest to you, I'd turn them off.
