change a field to a value

Hi All

can this be done?
i've a table where i have done used a formula to do some calculations
now i would like to change these calculations from being a field to being
the actual number - like in excel where you can copy & paste special -
values
any ideas

the UnlinkFields command, default key assignments are CTRL-SHIFT-F9 or
CTRL-6

i had actually tried ctrl & shift & f9 but as i had selected a whole column
it didn't work and i wasn't sure that i had the right key combination
anyway - so thanks for the confirmation ... do you know any way of doing it
for more than one cell at a time?

It works for me on more than one cell at a time Julie, so I don't know what to
tell you.

Hi Andy

how are you selecting the mulitple cells - i have a column of four cells,
and i can't seem to get it to work by either selecting the column using the
black arrow at the top, or selecting the cells by dragging over them. I am
using Word 2003. Any advice as to how you're selecting the cells & what
version you're using would be appreciated.

Hi Julie,

In Word 2003, I get the same behaviour when just a column is seleted. If I
select the whole table and use Ctrl+Shift+F9, the fields are unlinked
however.

I looked closer, and using Word 2002, I get the same behavior as Doug
- if I select the whole table, Shft-Ctrl-F9 unlinks the fields, but if
I select multiple individual cells, or columns or rows, it doesn't
work.
