"Shooter Room"
another simulation of M2 was the famous "Car Demo"
http://dairoku.free.fr/M2 car demo.avi
The 3DO M2 was bought by Matsushita/Panasonic in late 1995 for $100M.
M2 was to be used not just as a games console but also a PCI
accelerator card for PCs,
in arcade board configurations, DVD players, industrial kiosks and
more.
The M2's level of graphics rendering capability was somewhat beyond
that of
Rendition Verite / V1000, 3Dfx Voodoo Graphics/Voodoo1, Voodoo
Rush,
Videologic PowerVR Series1, ATI 3D Rage/ Rage II/Rage Pro, Nvidia
Riva 128
and other consumer 3D accelerators of 1995-1997. Naturally, the M2
was well beyond the performance and quality of consoles like the
original PlayStation, Saturn, Nintendo64, Apple Pippin, and unreleased
stuff like Atari's Project Midsummer (Jaguar II).
