Hello again everyone,

I now have a lovely working image on a 2GB Pretec CF card.

I now need a way to copy it to about 550 other 2GB Pretec CF cards.

Is there any way of doing this?

I have tried ghosting disk to disk - the ewf overlay is then corrupted
and the image finds a new CF card on boot up.

I have tried manually copying the files from one CF to the other and
that does the same thing.

I have tried using an IDE convertor plugged into a copier and this did
the same thing.

Please help! We have at least 550 to do, maybe more.

Lucy.

Lucy,

Are you using EWF RAM or DISK overlay?
If the first, you may want to set up the image using EWF RAM Reg mode to
avoid image cloning issues.

With regards to Ghost.. Did you try -IR switch?

Ghost has some switches that are needed to copy over the EWF volume. I don't
know what they are off hand. You might want to search this newsgroup for a
similar post. EWF RAM REG with no EWF volume would be simpler.

Also, there are a few CF hardware duplicators that can do a sector to sector
copy. A few are listed on my webpage:

Here I go again.

I set up an old 486 with Linux on it. I then setup a small script that runs
DD.
DD will copy the entire Master CF sector by sector and allows you to save
it.
Then you can transfer this Master image to each CF quick and painless,
partitions and all and have "exact" copies when done.

I tried Ghost and all the other stuff and the above way was the fastest, and
most painless.
A friend of mine does 4 or 6 at a time using the same method but I haven't
tried it.

They do also make a Windows build of DD but I can't remember what I did not
like about it.

Hi Richard,

Thanks for that.

Are there any specific parameters we need to use?
