certification

I am trying to get my feet wet by taking the certification in C#. I have
seen the exam number 70-315 & 70-316 are for VC#. Microsoft is also testing
the skills in asp.net for the above exams? Do I need to know asp.net if I
want to code in C#?
any ideas friends..

No, nothing that tests solely on any of the .NET languages.
