Access Certificates in access

I'm an ems instructor and am wanting to create a database where I can print certificates easily and fast the day of the class. I would also like to be able to print their transcript with the certificate. is this best done in access and if so how? I was given an excel file by another instructor that does this but I can't seem to figure out how he does it. any help?

You could certainly do that - I would have thought that if you had a database with all the student information you should be able to generate a report of their transcript / certificate. Whether it is best done in Access... I'm not sure. Which software do you have the most experience with? If it was me, I'd be tempted to go for a combo of Word and Excel, as shown in this video:
