I am having problems converting a document to a file.

It has been recommended that I reinstall Microsoft Word.
In doing so, I am being asked for the 25 character Key.
Mine is at least 26.

What am I doing wrong?

Mine is only 25 characters long. So where did you buy your copy? "At
*least* 26 characters? It sounds like you don't know how long is your
product code. Is it 26? Is it 48? "At least" only implies a minimum.
Doesn't sound like you have a legal product code.

I got mine thru QVC. Mine, per the Certificate of
Authenticity, Product ID is 29 characters & then below the
bar code is an additional 9 characters. Does this help?

Bar code? My product key is printed on a yellow one-piece sticker, has
a key-shaped icon, with a "Product Key:" label on the top line and the
product key on the next line in the format:

xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx

which is 5 groups of 5 digits. The sticker is inside the cover of the
wallet holding the CDs, and is NOT on the CDs (although I have seen is
pasted onto the backside of a jewel case). I looked at both the
packages for Office XP and Windows 2000 Pro and there's no bar code on
the product key sticker.

Sounds like you are using a part or stock number that has a bar code
counterpart for inventory scanners. You need to look elsewhere for the
product key. If you didn't get a product key then it's time to call up
QVC and demand they provide you a *FULL* licensed copy of your purchase
from them.

You're also posting in the wrong newsgroup (I didn't catch that when I
first responded). This one is for Windows 2000. You need to post in a
Word or Office newsgroup. But first figure out where to find the actual
product key sticker.
