Certain Links won't work

Help,

I have two apparent problems that may be related. I am running SP2.

First is on a link like http://cbbain.com/AgentDetail.asp?C=225002, I hang
up and cannot view the page. It works fine in other browsers. I have no
problem backing out.

Second is on a secure site, so the link would not be of use. I have a choice
of a report in pdf or html format. The pdf option comes up blank; the html
works fine. The report shows in a separate window with nothing but the frame
showing. I cannot find an analogous public site; all other pdf links
anywhere work fine. I have tried other browsers, but I cannot even get to
the reports, and do not expect that I could since the site owner is pretty
explicit about IE only compatibility.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled IE and Acrobat several times and tried
several options. When I watch the task manager, the acrobat reader is not
launched when I request the report, and I understand that it should be. The
report request apparently creates the report remotely as a pdf file and I
should be able to view it. The status bar flashes several remote folders
with .dll terminations while it is processing.

Let me know what other information I can provide to help with some
suggestions.

Thanks,

Steve

Care to elaborate on what you do see? Including Status bar and
with View Source?

There seems to be some non-standard coding in that page
regarding the site reports.realestateadmin.com
E.g. they use that "img" to pass details about your browser
and your IP address. Perhaps they are trying to find an agent
in what they guess (by the IP address) to be your region?

In addition nslookup shows that site is:

Name: reports.realestateadmin.com
Address: 206.191.181.244

but it doesn't show in the Privacy Report (Alt-V,v)

It does show me the agent's photograph was fetched from
206.191.181.151

It works fine in other browsers. I have no
problem backing out.

Often you can circumvent problems such as this
provided the document has been downloaded and cached by the TIF.
Then you can open them with the real Acrobat Reader.

Good luck
