Certain columns in Task View don't show data

In Task View, the first 2 columns do not display any data,
even though these fields have data in them in the Contact
View. I have re-ckecked the setup in <View>, <Current
View>, <Customize Current Veiw> and <Define View>, but
with no change.

From left to right in the Task folder, the field names I
have selected are "Company", "Contacts", "Subject", "Due
Date" and "Status"... "Company" and "Contacts" have no
data at all, but the others are OK. If I right click the
field name and look in <Customize Current View>, <View
Summary>, <Show Fields>, these fields are listed in the
right column as part of "Frequenty-Used Fields"...
indicating to me that they are valid.

For what its worth, the contacts in my Address Book were
imported from an ACT 4.0 database. The address book
fields seem to be populated correcly.

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

Dumb question, but if you open any of these tasks, do you see any data in
the Company or Contacts fields? That would explain what you're seeing.

Not so dumb after all!... I created a new task for a
contact, and what do you know, it works fine. What's
apparently happening is that the "Contact" and "Company"
data is not associated with the existing tasks that came
over with the imported ACT 4.0 database... in other words,
the "Subject", "Due Date", "Status", etc. data is listed,
but there's no association shown to a contact or company.

In "Contact View" and in the Address Book, the data is
shown. Is there any way to resolve this? Thanks.

The "Contact View" (whatever you mean by that -- maybe the Contacts folder)
and the Address Book show contacts, not tasks. In other words, what you see
there is irrelevant to what you see in your task items. If the task item
contains no data in the Contacts or Company field, it will display no data
there. My guess is that the import did not include that information.

There's apparently an issue in the import function... the
import map includes these fields, and the data did come
over to the Contact Folder. Why it doesn't show up is a
mystery. Seems to be OK when creating new tasks, though.

I found another issue... although the Contact Properties
shows the Contact Folder to be the source for the Address
Book, I find some contacts in the Address Book that don't
appear in the Contact Folder. Please let me have your
comments. Thanks.
