Can someone please help me?
I just bought a Canon i850 printer and I'm having problem centering
the print on the paper. My OS is Windows XP. The program I use is
Paint Shop Pro. I generally use ½ sheet letter size that gives me a
size 5 ½ x 8 1/2. I reduce my photos to 400 X 260 pixels and, in
"Page Set Up", I choose Page Size: Custom 8.5 x 5.5, Printer Paper
Size: Custom 8.5 x 5.5 and "Fit To Page Printing". In the preview the
image looks complete inside the paper but the print is chopped of on
one or more sides even if there would be enough room on the other
sides to accommodate most of the print. I know I'm doing something
wrong but I don't seam to have yet understood how the picture is
centered on the paper. Thank you for your help. Ignis

8" divided by 400 = 50 pixel per inch. Which is far, far too low for photos
..
You should be aiming for 200ppi at least.

What size are you starting with ?

Too low of resolution. You do not reduce the resolution to make the
print smaller. I have not use Paint Shop Pro, it's a very nice
program, and is very close to photo shop.

Select image size, a window should open, make sure the resample box is
not checked, and change the size of the photo to the size you wish to
print. Example the DPI is at 72 dpi and the image is 28 by 22 inches
about, change the 28 to 7 and the dpi should change to almost 300 dpi.
There is also the canvas size but then it clip or crops the image to
that size.

You also have to go to the page setup and see if there is a check box
to center the print on the paper.

The next thing is to set the paper size in your printer driver, you
need to define or set the paper size to 8.5 by 5.5 and make sure you
are loading the paper in the correct orienation in the printer. I
would run some test prints in draft mode or like to make sure I'm
getting the correct orienation before using the real photo paper the
frist time (with all the setting for the custom paper but with uncut
letter size paper)
