I have a Motorola V180 and whenever I connect it to the computer with a USB
it recognizes it. Then when I try and install the driver (or codec, I don't
know which one its called) it says it can't find the software for it. Thing
is my friend was able to do it with no problem on his XP but I don't know why
it won't work on mine. Can anyone help me out on how to get it installed?
I'm trying to use Mobiledit to put stuff on it but it won't recognize it
until I install the driver first.

XP wants to have the driver available before a device is connected,
normally. You should try installing the driver first, then connect the
phone.

Since you have done the reverse, connect the phone, go to Device
Manager, select view hidden devices and remove all references to it and
to its modem. Shut down the computer, disconnect the phone. Install
the driver and software, then connect the phone.
