Cell format of A-N

Is there a "Custom" format I can use to get one alpha
character, dash, one single digit number? e.g.: A-1, T-2.

If so, would it also be able to change an entry of A1 to A-
1?

Don't see why you need any special formatting. Just type A-1, T-2, etc. You
can still sort these entries. I see no way to insert -'s where they don't
now exist, however; you'll have to do it manually.
