Am I out of my mind to consider buying a laptop with a Celeron processor,
512 MB of RAM, and running VS.NET? It's important to note that I have
another PC that I will use 85% of the time. But, I'd like to occassionally
work on projects using the laptop, and perhaps use it at a client's office
for a day or two of work occassionally.

I won't the laptop for games, or images, etc, so the only time I'm really
going to be "working" this laptop is when I need VS.NET.

Is this nuts to consider? Thanks in advance.

Mark,
A celeron will never provide as much power as a non-celeron at the same
frequency, AND, and laptop processor will never be as fast as a desktop
processor of the same frequency. I'm guessing (by the amount of RAM) that
it's a pretty quick processor anyway, so you'll probably be just fine with
it. I have a 1.7 celeron on a local server we use. It works great for what
we use it for (our SourceSafe server, testing web server, gerneral file
server). Hope that helps some.
