Cd's not auto starting?

Hi all...looking at a friend's machine whose cd's do not start upon putting
them in their cd drive. It once worked. Where can that option be turned on?

Using w98se.

Go to HELP files, search for: "automatically playing CDs when inserted"

To make CDs play automatically when inserted in the CD drive

<click here> to open the System Properties dialog box at the Device Manager
tab.
Click the plus sign next to CDROM, right-click the device you want to use,
and then click Properties.
Click the Settings tab.
Select the Auto insert notification check box.
Notes
You can also open the System Properties dialog box by clicking Start,
pointing to Settings, clicking Control Panel, and then double-clicking
System.
This setting applies to all CDs, including games, multimedia, and audio CDs.
To prevent CDs from playing automatically, click to clear the Auto insert
notification check box. You can also press the SHIFT key while inserting a
CD to stop it from playing automatically.
