I have just installed a DVD RW on my compaq deskpro, into
a port where there was previously a cd player. DVD's play
ok with sound & on board windows sounds are ok & all
speaker tests are ok. However, when I insert an audio CD,
the CD player starts but there is no sound. I have
connected the sound lead as advised by the DVD manual. Can
anyone advise what the problem is?
I thought that the CD may have been using some of the
ribbon cable channels for sound direct to the m/board as
there wasn't an audio lead connected to the cd player. If
this was the case how can I re-install the sound lead on
the DVD player. Is there a command in the bios?
thanks in advance for any help.
