Trying to add files and folders to RW-CD using windows explorer on an HP notebook. CD was previously wrtten to no problem. CD was formatted "UDF" with Easy CD creator 5 Basic.

After starting file copy, Windows explorer hangs up and CD drive hammers or chatters. The only way to stop the CD drive or exit windows explorer is to turn off the computer. Nothing else will work.

any ideas ??????????????????

Do you currently have Windows native CD burning support turned on or off? If you are using a third party program to write files to a CD, it is recommended that Windows built in cd burning option is disabled

I am not at an XP machine at the moment and do not recall the exact path, but you can locate this feature by going into My Computer -> Right Click your CD-RW drive and choose Properties -> Click the Recording Ta

The option should reside somewhere in this section. Feel free to email me for further information if my suggestion did not prove useful.

I checked the native burning setting. It is not enabled. Since I posted my message, I found the WR-CD's I was using were for a high speed drive which I do not have. They were an xmas gift and I never bothered to check. Don't know yet if the problem is solved. Thanks for your reply.
