CDRW Drive Help - GONE!!

My CD-RW drive has disappeared from my device manager and my computer. When
I put a cd in the drive, I can hear it spin but it tells me no cd is in the
drive. I have used cdgone patch and put in the registry but it hasn't
changed anything.
Any other suggestions??
