Has anyone seen the below message. The message was reported in Event viewer

"The device, \Device\CdRom0, has a bad block"

The first thing a prudent person would do is to try another CD and see if he
got the same message. Did you? Do you??

If you do, replace the CD drive - it is likely defective. If you
don't.........., I'll allow you to decide that the CD is defective.

If you can, why not try to use the CD on another machine and see if it gets
the same reported problem.

HI Richard

i have a Hp notebook with a DVD/RW which can read all typs of media (DVD's,
music and games). The problem is that the cd drive does not burn DVDs using
DVDShrink (DVDShrink has a message that the DVD is complete with no errors
but when playing the dvd back on my notebook it does not have any media on
the DVD, or audio using Nero (with nero it always wants to burn to a file
instead of the blank media).
