CDROM CDRW ORANGE LIGHT on CONTINUOUS

I had a question to why my orange light is on all the
time even when there isn't a cd in the drive....this
usually means that it's reding but there is nothing to
read...can you help?
 
If it was a floppy drive you have the data cable in backwards. Given
complete lack of info or history other than the light I would have to
point your to the CD drive manufacturers Web site.
 
mine does this, i think it is just age , but not sure ,i think something is
broken in there but not affecting the performance of the CD-R, im sure its
not a big deal, annoying i know.
 
Don't know what you have or what you're doing with it.
