when I open MY Computer or widows explorer, my drive d: cdr is not shown. It
shows up in device manager as enabled and operating. If a disk is put in, the
drive will spin up and read, but no info is displayed. If a disk such as
windows setup is inserted in the drive, it will boot the system and and
properly show up on the display. How do I get windows to recognize the drive.
I have downloaded a new driver from microsoft and installed it with no
difference. The drive also works properly in another computer.

For help with Windows, ask in a Windows group. This is a .NET programming
group.

To find a Windows group...

As you appear to be using a web interface:

http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/en-us/default.aspx

Click the + beside your language. then scroll down to Windows. In Windows,
find the category for your Windows version. Open it and find a group for
your question.
