Hello,
I have been trying to install software to rip MP3 files from CD's onto my computer. Te software always installs ok (have tried Easy CD, CDex, Audiograbber etc) but when I put a CD in the drive and start up the program the programs will never read the CD. I am running windows XP (obviously) and my CD drive is a Matsushita UJDA720. One thing I have noticed is that under the device manager my computer shows 2 x CD/DVD players One being the Matsushita and the other being a Generic Stealth DVD SCSI CDRom Device. The software always says that the device it is using on my computer is the Generic and wont even find the Matsushita even when I try to use the software to detect it. I note that there is a lot of discussion regarding ASPI's but I dont know anything about this, am thinking maybe because I have tried so any programs something has happened to the ASPI setup on my computer.. I would appreciate some assistance/suggestions on this.

Take Care

Thanks B,

Tired that but the recording tab was already enabled. What I did however notice was that when I looked in My Computer Drive D: is "DVD Drive" and it is the Generic Device i assume, it does not even have the "Recording tab" to enable, ie the last tab is the sharing one. The E: is my DVD/CD-RW, this has the Enable CD Recording Tab and it is enabled. Something tells me that CDex is reading only the D: I cannot see the purpose of this drive, I think it needs removing or bypassing. I think the solution to my woes is very near..... appreciate your help.
