Can programs like Winamp, CDEX, WMPlayer, Burners
share their CDDB databases ?

If not, is there a way to synchronize them ?

Thank you in advance for response, link, advice or opinion..

The CDDB-databases are on a server on the internet. Some programs use a
local "cache" or database too, but I think those aren't compatible (at
least not all of them).

You can run a local freedb (= CDDB compatible) database though.
(see freedb.org).

but at least CDex, NotifyCD and ExactAudioCopy (retrieve only)
can share the same local DB. This is mostly enough for me. I only
would like another player with a nice interface (CDmax unfortunally
is shareware)...

Is there a reasonable tutorial on how to do it under windows?
I can't make sense of the "instructions" on their site.

when you use CDex, NotifyCD or ExactAudioCopy, you can simply
point them all to the same folder containing the CDDB data.
This is not more than some folders ("blues", "classical"...)
and text files (without any extension) inside.

Not all freeDB-aware programs also use a local database as well,
and many store their information themselves (like ExactAudioCopy
or Nero), so that's a one way ticket...
