CD_ROM Reading Problem

My cd-rom will not open folders on a cd and read its contents. Th
cd's are read okay on another computer. Any ideas how to remed
this

Buy another CDROM drive.

does it read a regular audio cd?
how old is it?
Usually when they stop reading,
that's it. time for a replacement.
Could be the cable has a
bad connection.
 
Removing the disk controller and replacing it with a "new" one solve
the problem.
