I am having problems writing CDs using my DVD drive. The burn starts, then
takes ages and finally gets to about 5 second to finish and then the whole
thing freezes. I have tried using Nero as an alternative but it doesn't work
either. I have another CDR but windows doesn't recognise it and switches off
the enable write feature under record.

HELP!

I have tried all the information suggested and still have the same problem.
The DVD drive works (very slowly) when writing a cd rw using INCD but still
fails to complete writing a CDR. I am trying to use the XP cr writing tool.
I downloaded the plug in but it made no difference.

STILL NEED HELP!!!!

Sorry, none of this helped. I can write to CD RW using INCD but still cannot
burn CDRs. The drive is a lite-on-combo drive. I have used it easily and
successfully in the past using Nero 5.

My InCd version is 4.3.20.1 and you can get it at the Nero site too.. It
should be with the Nero 6 updates.. What is the model # for the Lite-on combo
drive..?
Don't use the inbuilt XP CD Wiz and Nero together, I have mine turned off on
the drives recording tab ie.. Un-check the box.. Remember, in Nero to use CD
mode and not DVD mode in the Nero Burning Rom app, you might try the Nero
Express app on the CD-R too.. Also, anytime you use the blank CD's you may
get a pop up error window incorrect function, just click ok, then start using
your Nero..
Use your Nero Infotool to id the firmware for the drive and model #, you
could just paste from a saved report to your post, that would provide the
best system & drive info for the problem drive..

Have you tried looking in your Incd folder at the Incd# - FAQ html document
file, for common troubleshooting tips..?

Do you have any application installed which use either of
Sonic's programs (recordnow or rip-burn). Some media tools
pack these along with their products. This suite clashes
with other agents, and causes failures. These are not
compatible to Ahead/Nero or IMAPI windows/Roxio Burn. Some
of the players that have these are "MusicMatch Jukebox" and
"Winamp". In winamp, remove the application, then do a
'custom install' leaving out the RIP/BURN support.
Sorry about MMJB, no such option yet. Just remove MMJB. Do a
registry scan and remove all data from the mmjb application.
