My TDK CD writer disappears from my hardware
configuration. I have had two different CD writers and
it happed with both of them. I discovered this
information in the even logs which seem to relate to the
problem, but i don't know where to go from here.
1st event error message by atapi:
The device, \Device\Ide\IdePort1, did not respond within
the timeout period.
The first event message appeaded a second time also, and
then the 3rd event message appeared.
3rd event error message by the plug & play manager:
The device 'TDK CDRW321040B'
(IDE\CdRomTDK_CDRW321040B_________________________X7S2____
\5&35bcaee8&0&0.0.0) disappeared from the system without
first being prepared for removal.
From what I can determine, it's not responding & the
event manager removes it.
I don't know why it's not responding.
I read thru the MS Knowledgebase artice 314093. I
checked the version of scsiport.sys int system32\drivers
folder and it's a microsoft product that's current.
I checked the registry as indicated, but I don't think
it's a problem with the TDK writer since it happened with
the HP writer which was installed previously.
Can anyone offer a suggestion on what I can do to resolve
this problem?
